In addition to scheduled activities, an integral part of our historical sites and immersion program, there are also guided trips and hikes into the countryside, with stops at farm houses and interesting drawing and photographic vistas. It is HISA's desire to provide a sense of being on Paros, and in Greece, to give students the academic, artistic and experiential lift essential to their educational and career goals. Each week a list of events will be posted, detailing gallery openings, dance performances, lectures.
Outdoor sports are abundant across Paros. Students can easily find centers for horseback riding, snorkling, surfing, windsurfing, diving, martial arts, bicycling, hiking and rock climbing and multi-purpose gyms for weight lifting and cardio-based classes. The environmental features of Paros, with fresh vegetables, clean air and abundant sunshine are conducive to living a healthy and active lifestyle.
Yoga and spiritual wellness workshops are presented at the TAO'S Center. For sport enthusiasts, HISA works with the local sailing club, and can arrange for sailing trips or lessons. The sailing club offers a sailing certificate if desired. Also, why not try kite-boarding and wind surfing, scuba diving and snorkeling, horseback riding, and onsite rock wall building.
Greeks are known to stay up late, and Paros has a variety of cafe's and clubs located in Paroikia (the site of HISA) and Naoussa (a nearby city) where students can socialize and hear international modern and traditional Greek music both live and with DJ's. Paros is also remarkably safe, boasting a community mentality in an internationally attractive setting.
